Work Day Today

Today we will use our class time to work independently on the resume project.  This will be our last class period to work on it.  Be sure to do the following:

  • Complete the resume
    • enhance your objective
    • list at least two transferable skills
    • include interests and hobbies
    • ***add a section for Awards and Honors
      • list a/b honor roll
      • sports awards
      • student of the month
      • club officer positions
  • Complete the cover letter
    • Use the employer's address info from the job posting
    • Use Dear Sir or Madam or Dear Personnel Manager if no name is given
    • In the first paragraph:
      • Tell where you saw the posting
      • tell exactly which job you are interested in
    • In the second paragraph:
      • Describe yourself, your personal qualities and your skills
      • Match words to the job posting
      • Use words from posting to show that you have what they are looking for
    • In the third paragraph:
      • Thank them for considering you as a candidate
      • Let them know when you are available for an interview
  • Create a list of references
    • There is a template HERE
    • include 3
    • you should have complete addresses and phone numbers
    • It is best to ask someone if you can use them as a reference before you do
Lastly, use your time wisely, and ask questions if you're not sure.

Education Professions Themed Learning Pacs

One of our major projects in Education Professions is the themed learning pac.  Students are to create multiple mini lessons to go along with a theme of their choice.  The mini lessons include topics for math, reading, science, music, gross motor, and crafts.  Below are the pictures of the finished pacs.

Today 11/7

Child Development classes will be working on the chapter 8 review.

IPR will continue Marley and Me (and work on movie guide).

EP will take a vocab quiz, view the communication PPt, complete discussion questions for PPt, and take a self assessment of their communication style.

Imaginative Play with Puppets

Today, we will begin working on our puppet project.  Chances are that it will be done and ready to be added to your Themed Learning Pac by 11/11.
